Haunted dust bunnies!
.
Description of Item:
|
My wife and I have
always been "city
folk". Two years ago
we decided to quit
the rat race and
bought a "fixer
upper" home in rural
Upstate NY, very
close to the
canadian border. It
was love at first
sight at this
imposing farmhouse.
It was up on a hill,
not unlike the house
in the movie
"Psycho". The
woodwork was
original to the
house, the original
tin ceilings were
still in place, the
original
stained-glass
windows had cracks,
but considering it's
age, the structure
was otherwise
flawless. What most
stuck to me was the
hurry of this real
estate agent to make
a quick closing.
Homes like this
would sell on the
market for more than
200,000.00...yet, we
got it for a mere
27,000.00. I
treasure of a home
plus 15 acres of
wooded land. I asked
the agent why so
cheap and his
muttered to my
surprise that there
were no next of kin
and no mention of a
will. We were just
happy to finally
have found our
"dream home" and
left it at that.
Everything went fine
until about two
months after we
moved in, strange
noises would awaken
us from our sleep at
night, and sometimes
during the day. It
was a strange
crackling noise we
would hear, and at
first we thought it
might be the
electrical wiring
and hired someone to
inspect the house
throughout. Nothing.
The electricity was
fine. A few days
later, we would hear
hopping noises all
across the attic.
Mind you, the attic
was the ONLY room in
the house where we
hadn't ventured. My
wife and I looked
into each other's
eyes and
knew immediately why
the house went for
practically nothing.
Following more
sleepless nights, we
knew we would have
to confront our
worst fears and
venture into the
attic. What followed
sent shivers up and
down our spines.
There was nothing up
in the attic, just
cobwebs and small
collections of dust
shaped like balls
all over the
room. Is this what
was causing all the
noise? If so, it
would be gone and we
would finallly be
able to sleep
peaceful. So out
came our trusty shop
vac, and eradicated
every single one.
Next morning the
noises started
again. I went up to
the attic and there
they were again!
This time we got our
Shop Vac out again,
and mopped up every
corner of that
attic. We were
convinced that would
be the end of the
haunted whatever
that kept returning.
Next morning , the
same dusty room
awaited us. The
eerie sense of
foreboding returned
as we approached the
attic trap and the
door opened by
itself! This time,
twice as many
dustballs awaited
us.
We were
frantic...some
neighbors recanted
stories that the
dustbunnies were
reincarnations of
tribal indians who's
burial grounds were
desecrated. For
whatever reason, the
dustbunnies are here
to stay. I will be
auctioning them off
individually until
each one is gone
forever...
I will not be
responsible for what
happens to you if
you bid... |
