If I was any judge of crazy stuff I would say Its A
young form of the beastie from the "Testimony Of The
Mad Arab"
Crowley & Lovecraft's NECRONOMICON. Its like an
infant "Cthulhu". Whatever
it is it is ken to a/an Octopus or one of the
Creatures
From the sands of Summer.

Inspecting the
photographs as best I could, I would suggest the
creature inside the jar is a Cthulhu (from
the
"Testimony Of The Mad Arab")
foetus. The creature
displays the tentacles for limbs as well as over the
mouth. Though not entirely certain as to what the
rest of the kit contains, I would suggest the jar
remain forever closed, lest you wish to call a fate
worse then Armageddon.

I would
love to want to believe that this kit was something
strange and bizarre. My gut feelings tell me its an
Sea Explorers collection kit.
Small bottles a compass, maps and diagrams. Even a
prized Octopus specimen to study and learn from.
