Jesus Found on
Shop Floor - GoldenPalace.com Buys Divine Image on Sheet Metal
SHEET
METAL JESUS
MANCHESTER, CT (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Is a piece of sheet
metal worth $1500? It is to GoldenPalace.com, especially when it
bears the image of Christ and the Virgin Mary. Hardy's Hardware
employee Thomas Haley was unloading supplies when he had to do a
double-take at a particular piece of sheet metal because he saw
a face staring back at him.

Haley was shocked at what appeared to
be the image of Christ and, when the sheet is turned
upside-down, the image of the nativity scene complete with the
Virgin Mary as well. Haley and his friend Jonathan Jackson
showed the sheet to some friends who agreed there was a face
visible, although some saw Jim Morrison instead.
"I mean, it hasn't done anything
miraculous as of yet, but seeing it is kind of groovy," said
Haley, 23. "Just seeing it brightens people's day."
Haley decided to sell it on eBay,
where it received over 120,000 page visits, and was eventually
bought by GoldenPalace.com for $1500.
GoldenPalace.com has created an entire
marketing campaign around buying unusual eBay items, several
with religious overtones. Items like the Virgin Mary Grilled
Cheese Sandwich, Holy Pierogi, and Divine Pretzel have become
bona-fide pieces of American pop-culture.
"There is no doubt that an image of a
face appears in this item," said GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard
Rowe. "Whether it's Jesus, Jim Morrison, or anyone else is in
the eye of the beholder. This item has definitely sparked
interest and debate however. It will make a great addition to
the collection of religious items we will be taking on tour
later this year. People will see and decide for themselves."
Setting the
standard in marketing creativity, GoldenPalace.com has devised
some of the most exciting and outrageous advertising campaigns
in the past few years. Recently, items such as the Virgin Mary
Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Britney Spears' Pregnancy Test, and
Pope Benedict XVI's previously-owned VW Golf have garnered
extensive worldwide media attention for the casino.
