Extraordinary Fake Photo

.
Robyn writes, "I have a fake ghost photo for you, I made it with Corel Photopaint, I hope you like it. The 'ghost' photo was taken last year (2008) at a friend's wedding in Cambridgeshire, England. I'm the lady in the astonishing pink hat, the other woman is my sister. The 'ghost' seen at the right of the photo, creeping around my shoulder....is also me! (albeit with a very different hairstyle - but believe me, they're both me!) I used my webcam to take a snarling photo of myself. Then I cut out my head and my arm, shrunk them down, rotated them, positioned them on the wedding photo, and used a number of effects to make them look more 'ghostly' (made them transparent, sponged out all the colour, blurred the edges a bit). I also blanked out my eyes to make it more creepy. All in all, it looks totally fake to people who are used to looking at this stuff, but some people are trying to pass off forgeries like this as real photos. So I'm sending this to you so that if you put it up, people can see it and hopefully recognize other fakes for what they are. All the best, Robyn Goddard Manchester (England)

Very impressive picture... Robyn even told us exactly how she created the fraudulent photo, which is way cool. I found it especially interesting that Robyn (wearing the red hat) is the same girl in the 2nd picture with short blond hair... What a difference! I wrote Robyn to let her know we will be posting her photo and I asked what her normal look really is, but I did not receive a response. So anyway, here's a lesson that shows what an experienced person can accomplish with a photo program... thank Robyn!
